What Can You Do for Extra Credit?

Points awarded for extra credit vary depending on the amount of work that you do.

  1. Decorate classroom bulletin boards.
  2. Answer discussion questions at end of assigned chapter.
  3. Conduct a self-analysis to identify your personal strengths and weaknesses.
  4. Complete an activity at end of a chapter.
  5. Develop a discipline model or plan which you may one day use with your children.
  6. Write a reaction paper to a topic/issue discussed in class.
  7. Write a paper comparing a short story that you've read recently (maybe in English) to something discussed in psychology.
  8. Illustrate a concept discussed in class.
  9. Watch a TV program that relates to psychology, and write a reaction paper.
  10. Write a psychological profile of a Biblical character.
  11. Interview parents, teachers, or others to see how they use psychology to motivate, discipline, influence, and so on.
  12. Conduct an experiment and report your results to class. (videotape experiment?)
  13. Volunteer to assist with Lutherans for Life.
  14. You think of an idea.

Simple summaries or reactions are not worth much extra credit. Analyzing, comparing, contrasting, developing - these are the things which will earn you extra credit.
