Bentz Visit Evaluation Guidelines

Please respond to your visit of the children under the care of Mrs. Bentz in written form according to the following guidelines:

Format

Typed, double-spaced (2-3 pages)

name, date and period of visit in upper right-hand corner

Writing Guidelines Please consider the following items in writing your reaction. (Out of courtesy to Mrs. Bentz, your evaluations will be shared with her.)

psychological terms and references - use terminology from our psychology studies and a reference to material in the text (include the number of the page)

environment - observe environment (sights, sounds, toys, books, cleanliness, etc.) and child interaction

discipline - discuss discipline strategies

child development - identify Piaget’s stages/Kohlberg’s levels of moral development

childhood memories – if you desire, share any personal memories of your childhood that this visit caused you to recall.

personal impact - visit’s significance to your plans as a parent

future considerations - why this visit should be continued/discontinued for future psychology students

miscellaneous - consider material from Chap. 10 Learning Goals

Anyone wishing to express his/her gratitude to Mrs. Bentz for the opportunity to observe her daycare children is encouraged to donate a dollar or two toward the purchase of new daycare equipment or toward the other costs of offering quality daycare in a Christian environment. She has put forth much effort to bring the children to FVL for us to observe. (This is my idea not hers.)
