World Geography

Unit 4 Project Guideline Sheet

Western Europe

Directions:

1.    Determine group members.

2.    Choose one of the ten countries listed below and on the backside.

3.    With the other members of your countries’ group, develop a vacation packaged for potential clients.  Search for websites, photos, photographs on noteworthy sites and information on popular destinations.  Prepare attractive brochures, a detailed itinerary with specific stops, methods of transportation and places to lodge.  Include air transportation.

4.    Your information should be shared as a PowerPoint presentation.  Other students will role-play prospective vacationers as they consider which package to purchase.  No written report is to be handed in.  The presentation with its related productions will serve as the basis for the group’s grade according to the presentation rubric.

5.    Geography class periods will be spent in the Media Center and/or available computer lab to allow each group work time and access to traditional and electronic resources.  Use the provided Internet sites for the core of your research.

Additional Materials/Handouts:

1.    Geography Internet Sites (Research all of the sites you feel might give you information on your country.  Especially check out http://www.yahoo.com/countries, http://travelocity.com, www.searcheurope.com, http://www.lonelyplanet.com, and http://citysearch.com for travel arrangements and tourist sites.)

2.    Presentation Rubric (Closely follow every one of the guidelines in your presentation rubric.  Be sure to ask if you have any questions beyond what is discussed in class.  Copies are on the bulletin board and are listed on the Geography home page.)
