Unit Three Project

Latin America and the Caribbean

Description of Activity: Create a large fact chart or other approved project about Latin America and the Caribbean.

Procedure:

1. Form into a group of _____ people.
2. Choose from one of the following:

1. physical geography (land, climate, etc.)
2. history
3. government
4. economics
5. culture

3. When enough material has been collected, determine which material will be used and create a design for the project.

4. Include as many illustrations, photos, tables, graphs, etc., as possible to add visual interest to your project.

5. Draw up a schedule for completing the project.

6. Prepare the chart or project for display in the hallway or classroom.

7. Conclude your efforts with a brief oral summary of your findings.

Suggestions:

1. Use the media center materials, the Internet, encyclopedias, atlases, and other resources for information.
2. Include the following types of information in your project:

1. major cities
2. highest and lowest points
3. major languages
4. religions
5. principal rivers, lakes, and mountain ranges
6. principal economic activities, etc.
