PowerPoint Templates

MS PowerPoint gives users a variety of stock templates. However, to make a custom presentation often times means customizing even the look of the slide to better represent your idea or purpose. 

Follow these basic steps to create your own PowerPoint Template
.

1.  Start with a blank format slide. 

2.  Set your background color and font designs using the Slide and/or Title Master.  (Remember to "embed" your fonts so you aren't disappointed later!)  

3.  Add any logos or special graphics to the Slide and/or Title Master.  This should be only material that will appear on every slide! 

4.  Use Save As command from File menu.  In the Save As Type box, choose Presentation Template. (Your Save In location should automatically chance to the Templates directory!)

5.  Double-click the Presentations Designs folder to make this the location for your new template. Once you do this, you should be able to access your new template through the New Presentation dialog box in the future. 

6.  Name your file with an appropriate title and click Save.  (NOTE: Powerpoint adds the .PPT extension automatically.)

NOTE:  When using graphics and other sources from the Internet it is always good to keep good records and accurately document where you downloaded your materials. With the current copyright regulations this is an important safeguard for your protection!
