Interested in having your work published?
There are plenty of opportunities for young writers to get their work published. Here are several places you might try.
For those writing with a religious slant, Forward in Christ (formerly the Northwestern Lutheran) is always looking for thoughtful articles from teen writers. In addition to publication of your work, you also will be paid for any accepted articles.
A Celebration of Young Poets is an on-going poetry contest where students can submit their work(s). Poems are bound in a hard-cover book format and students have the opportunity to purchase copies of their work.
The Edna Ferber Scholarship is a $1000 writing opportunity. One scholarship is offered each year in memory of this famous Wisconsin writer. Applicants must submit an original 5-7 page history paper in one of the following categories: family history, biography, research paper on a specific local historical topic or event. This scholarship is offered by the Outagamie County Historical Society. Application forms and rules are available at the Outagamie Museum.
Fox Cry is a literary magazine published by the University of Wisconsin - Fox Valley. It accepts submissions of poetry and short fiction. Accepted authors receive a copy of the publication.
