CONGRATULATIONS! SARAH LIEWERGEN
This poem is published in theWindow
Make me, O Lord, a window clear and clean
My body a pane of clear glass to be.
The light of Jesus shining in my being
And flowing from my heart for all to see.
My life divided into talents true
All given me that I may now serve you.
My window panes now give a sturdy lock
The power of your sure, almighty Word.
So when the devil comes to harm your flock
A victory in Christ can be assured.
Forgive me when my curtains close in fear
Remind me that your power is still near.
And make my wooden windowsill a ledge
On which my weary knees can fall in prayer.
Outside, when flowers grow upon the hedge,
My fruits of faith are shown in action there!
When fingerprints, my sin, disturb the view
Show me, then, to the Window-Washer--You.
This poem by Sarah is published in the Fall
2000 volume entitled
A Celebration of Young Poets.
Unmarked Silence
A cemetery.
Does anyone remember
Those who lie here now?
Who protects the unmarked graves
From the blowing wind and rain?
