Student Assistance Program
Students, welcome back!
Hopefully this school year will be
your best ever! It can be even though
tough times may lie ahead. Always know
that help is available to you.
New opportunities for students
exist this year. Below you’ll see a
variety of different groups that are scheduled to meet from time to time. These groups will meet during the school day
for 4-5 weeks, and participation is kept confidential.
Look over the topic(s) that might
be of interest to you or a friend. Then
please mark that topic with a “P”. Turn in to Guidance, or e-mail your
counselor. You will be contacted
confidentially prior to the first meeting.

_____ Eating Disorders Group (as needed) –
Preoccupation with weight, constant dieting, obsession over what and when to
eat, excessive exercise, dissatisfaction with body shape or size. This group is for any student struggling
with body image or food, or for anyone who is concerned about a friend’s
struggles.
_____ Loss or Grief Group (as needed) – When you lose
someone close, life seems as if it will never be the same. This group is for those who can give and
receive support for such pain.
_____ Stress/Depression Group (January) – Ever feel
overwhelmed? Can’t keep up? When will this end? Participants in this group will give and
receive encouragement for living in a difficult world.
_____ Friendships Group (February) – A group that
explores the challenges of being a teen – gossip, conflict, bullying, changing
friendships, personal identity, etc.
_____ Divorce/Family Group (March/April) – A group to
help students adjust to divorced or separated parents, blended families,
adoption or foster homes.
If you are hesitant to participate, we understand how you
feel. Other students have felt that way
when past groups were offered. Yet,
they found their participation to be very helpful.
To those who choose not to participate, that’s fine, too. Please show Christian love by supporting
those who do.
Be
completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Ephesians 4:2)
_____ Yes, contact me when the
group starts.
